The General Settings menu has 3 tabs, Orientation, Gameplay & Multiplayer
Set the intended orientation of the device when your Hype is being played. Is your Hype designed to be played in portrait or landscape?
How should the image adjust when switching between landscape and portrait? You can choose here to crop the image or have it expand to fill the screen. How these options work will depend on the Primary Orientation.
With this option turned on the Hype will refresh when the player hits the play button in the HypeHype UI.
The Game Objective is displayed to players when they first enter Play mode on your Hype.
Select a Game Objective from the dropdown list or choose to not display an objective. The Objective should be a very short, often one word description of what the player's goal is in the game.
Each objective has a few icons to choose from. Edit the icon by tapping the pencil next to it. The Icon option will only appear once an Objective has been selected.
HypeHype will detect what controls are available in your game and give some basic tutorials on how to use them when the player first starts to play. You can toggle these automatic tutorials off or on as you wish here.
Read more in the Automatic Controls Tutorial: How To article.
This text field allows you provide longer instructions on how to play your game than the simple one word Objective.
These instructions will appear if the player taps the How to play? options in the 3 dots menu when playing your game.
Here you can set if your game has a leaderboard, what type of value it will use and how it is sorted. Leaderboard settings can also be set or adjusted on the publish page
Leaderboard | No Leaderboard | Game has no leaderboard |
Time | Game has a leaderboard with time as the score
Decimal | Game has a leaderboard with values including decimal places as the score
Number | Game has a leaderboard with whole numbers as the score
Sort Order | Lowest Number | The leaderboard is sorted with lowest values first |
Highest Number | The leaderboard is sorted with highest values first |
Set the player object(s) in your Hype. This will allow the engine to know which objects to show as the player as a ghost when others play the game (unreleased feature, stay tuned for more)
Toggle this on to enable your Hype for multiplayer
Set the maximum number of players your Multiplayer Hype can have. HypeHype multiplayer currently supports 2-4 players.
